About The Position

The Academic Enrichment Paraprofessional at Pickens High School is responsible for supporting students in their virtual learning experiences, particularly through the use of Edgenuity and VirtualSC. This role involves coordinating with teachers and guidance counselors, providing tutorial assistance, maintaining records of student progress, and communicating with parents to ensure effective learning outcomes. The position requires a commitment to fostering student success in a virtual environment and involves various administrative tasks as assigned by the school principal.

Requirements

• A 2-year associate degree or higher, or 60 semester hours of college course work, and taken and passed the ParaPro Assessment; or a 4-year degree.
• Ability to operate a variety of machines and equipment, including a computer and basic office equipment.
• Ability to exert up to five pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to sit most of the time, but may involve walking or standing for periods of time.
• Ability to lift and/or carry weights of five to ten pounds.

Responsibilities

• Work with students using Edgenuity and VirtualSC.
• Facilitate use of Edgenuity and virtual learning software.
• Coordinate lessons and units of study with core course teachers and guidance counselors.
• Provide tutorial assistance as needed for students completing units of instruction.
• Follow protocol for identifying and registering students who may benefit from the virtual learning.
• Maintain records of all activity.
• Provide monthly, quarterly and yearly reports of all virtual learning progress.
• Conference with parents by phone, E-mail, or in-person to monitor progress using Apex.
• Maintain lines of communication with Guidance Counselors to ensure the effective use of the Recovery and Retrieval programs.
• Work with district personnel to monitor use of Apex program and other virtual learning programs.
• Work with other computer programs as assigned.
• Complete other tasks or duties as assigned by the School's Principal/Director.
