About The Position

A WPS Photographer plays a crucial role in creating high-quality visual content of WPS brands and products. The imagery this person creates will directly contribute to the success of marketing, sales, and e-commerce strategies. This photographer has the imagination, talent, and skills to capture our vision and energy in beautifully crafted visual storytelling photographs. They must create meaningful content that portrays our company, our mission, our brands, and our lifestyle in cutting-edge, engaging imagery. This role requires someone who is truly creative, imaginative, has an eye for the details, and able to think quickly “in the moment”. This highly diverse role encompasses all facets of photography. Work assignments range from in-studio product photography and live event photojournalism to on-location action sports photography. This photographer is expected to be highly skilled in image editing, color correction, and color grading. This is a full-circle role with plenty of room to grow within the ever-expanding and exciting power sports industry. The person in this position preferably holds a BA in Photography or Fine Art & Design or Photographic Journalism, with a minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience as a field and studio photographer, be a powersports or action sports enthusiast, exhibit the ability to manage multiple shoot events, be extremely confident in working with other photographers and media representatives, models and sportsmen, and must represent the company with the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct at all times.

Requirements

  • 3 – 5+ years related professional photography, photo editing, and production experience in a creative environment.
  • Highly creative with skills to generate captivating ideas and compelling stories.
  • Superior skills in composition, lighting, design aesthetics, and continuity.
  • Advanced knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom.
  • Expertise using Nikon D5, D6, and D4s camera systems, including fast autofocus and appropriate lens selection.
  • Proficiency with studio lighting, strobes and continuous, grip, modifiers, flags, scrims, and tethering tools.
  • Strong understanding of photo editing, color correction, and color grading.
  • Ability to work independently, learn quickly, and adapt to new tools and techniques.
  • Highly organized and able to manage time, prioritize projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrates attention to detail, spelling, and grammar.
  • Self-motivated, capable of independent work, and comfortable collaborating closely with a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for work with clients, athletes, coworkers, and partners.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the P&A Marketing Manager and creative team to scope photo solutions for marketing needs.
  • Participate in creative discussions to develop effective marketing and advertising concepts.
  • Develop and plan all aspects of photoshoots, including scheduling, travel itineraries, scouting and booking locations, acquiring featured products, obtaining permits, securing models, procuring power sports vehicles, developing shot lists, and coordinating logistics for required equipment.
  • Work in a studio to create high-quality, visually accurate product photography for all WPS brands. Maintain consistency across angles, backgrounds, reflections, and product families.
  • Build and operate professional studio lighting setups, strobes and continuous, using modifiers, flags, scrims, and diffusion.
  • Work on location to capture inspiring action and brand lifestyle imagery to support marketing and sales initiatives.
  • Apply sports photography techniques for fast-paced subjects, including composition, timing, and available light control.
  • Implement visual storytelling techniques to strengthen narrative and emotional impact.
  • Perform nondestructive retouching and color correction of RAW images into sharp, evenly lit, and color-accurate photographs.
  • Maintain creative consistency across verticals, ensuring all projects align with the brand strategy and creative vision.
  • Work safely and professionally with clients, athletes, and crew in varied environments.
  • Work closely with marketing, product design, sales, and catalog teams to align imagery with brand standards and launch timelines.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with clients, athletes, team members, and cross-functional partners.
  • Safeguard and maintain all assigned company equipment, manage photography equipment inventory, calibrations, routine maintenance, and coordinate rentals and vendor relationships.
  • Travel in-state to photo shoots and around the country to industry events.
  • Maintain flexibility for extended hours and some weekends to meet shoot requirements.
  • Stay current on industry and photographic trends, processes, and equipment.
  • Clean driving record and a valid driver’s license.
