About The Position

The Photographer for Student Affairs Ancillary Services at the University of Illinois Chicago will be responsible for executing specialized photographic work, including capturing a variety of subjects and supervising assistant photographic personnel. This role requires a basic level of photographic skill and knowledge of various techniques, with a focus on quality control and post-production workflows. The position operates under the general supervision of senior photographers and the creative director, contributing to the visual documentation of university events and activities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Any combination totaling four years from college coursework in photography or related fields and work experience in professional photographic work.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in LightRoom preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Takes digital photographs of a wide variety of subjects including landscapes, architecture, events, and portraits.
  • Provides post-production editing of photographs to ensure quality control and uploads to secure photo servers.
  • Interacts with customers to determine project needs and deliverables, potentially supervising student staff.
  • Maintains digital photo inventory and archive, as well as inventory of photographic equipment and supplies.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
