About The Position

MarathonFoto is seeking freelance photographers for the Houston Marathon & Half Marathon on January 19th, 2025. The role involves capturing dynamic portrait photos of runners with their medals post-race or action shots of runners on the course. This is a contract position that requires experience in sports photography and the ability to work in outdoor conditions.

Requirements

• Experience in sports photography is necessary.
• Excellent knowledge of photography equipment and techniques.
• Ability to stand, move quickly, and hold the camera for the duration of the event.
• Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to adapt to changing circumstances during the event.
• Reliable transportation and punctuality are essential.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with marathon or similar event photography.
• Familiarity with different camera models and lenses.

Responsibilities

• Capture portrait photos of runners with their medals after they finish the race.
• Take action photos of runners on the course at assigned locations.
• Adhere to clear guidelines provided for the type of photos to be taken.
• Work efficiently and make quick decisions while multi-tasking during the event.
• Collect media cards at the end of the event to ensure proper image transfer.
