About The Position

The Photo Internship at MLive Media Group offers a unique opportunity for aspiring photographers to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and inclusive newsroom. Interns will engage in local journalism, contributing to photo galleries, video work, and story pitches while being part of one of the largest privately owned media companies in the country. This paid internship lasts six months, starting in January 2025, and requires a commitment of 40 hours per week.

Requirements

• Reliable transportation to meet with sources or cover events
• Ability to work 40 hours a week
• Experience with video and multimedia is a plus
• Proficiency in photography and photo editing software

Nice To Haves

• Experience with writing for digital media
• Familiarity with Adobe suite applications

Responsibilities

• Cover general assignments in-person
• Pitch stories and photo galleries
• Create posts and video work
• Utilize Nikon pool equipment for photography
• Collaborate with the newsroom team on various projects
