About The Position

A Phosphate Operator is responsible for catching customer parts coming out of zinc and choosing the correct phosphate finish and bake time per work order. Duties/Responsibilities Places material into and operate phosphate line. Troubleshoot minor problems non-phosphate equipment and recognize major problems Sign on, complete work orders, and be able to trace work orders on J&M's production system, with a complete understanding of J&M's quality system. Operate forklift truck and obtain a J&M forklift license Have a complete understanding of tank cleaning and waste handling procedures, while demonstrating the understanding of chemistry in process bath, pickle and oil procedure and "dry to touch" and Phos plus procedure. The employer may require an employee to perform other duties as assigned on a temporary and infrequent basis.

Requirements

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Speak, read, and write English preferred
  • Organized with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage and work on a computer
  • Ability to communicate with others and maintain cooperative, team-building relationships.
  • Actively listen to instructions, understand them, and ask questions
  • Meets commitments and assigned due dates.
  • Monitors operations to ensure processing is working properly.
  • Use of logic and reasoning to identify improvement opportunities and alternative
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to calculate the correct weight for each load.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience using computers.

  • Experience working in a manufacturing company preferred
  • Forklift license preferred
