About The Position

The Registered Medical Assistant - Phone Triage position at Valley AIDS Council d/b/a Westbrook Clinic is designed to support patient care by collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams. Requirements

• Graduate from a technical school as a Medical Assistant.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification/Registration.
• CPR certified.
• Twelve months of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with medical terminology, EHR software, healthcare regulations, HIPAA, OSHA, and taking vital signs.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of primary care and HIV medicine.
• Ability to work under conditions of constant interruption.
• Willingness to work a flexible schedule when necessary.

Responsibilities

• Identify patient service requirements by establishing rapport with patients and stakeholders.
• Complete patient care requirements by scheduling and assigning nursing staff and following up on work results.
• Promote patient independence by establishing care goals and educating patients and their families.
• Provide information to patients and the healthcare team by answering questions and requests.
• Resolve patient needs using multidisciplinary team strategies.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by implementing procedures and calling for assistance when needed.
• Protect patients and employees by enforcing infection-control policies and medication administration procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and documentation of care services by auditing records.
• Ensure operation of medical and administrative equipment by verifying availability and completing maintenance requirements.
• Maintain nursing supplies inventory by studying usage reports and anticipating needs.
• Participate in professional development by attending workshops and reviewing publications.
• Communicate effectively with healthcare teams to maintain cooperative relationships.
