Your Role: As a Staff Coach, you will be instrumental in providing key aspects of the PHLpreK Quality Support Center’s professional development approach, supporting providers through cohort-based and/or individual coaching and mentoring. The Staff Coach provides differentiated and equitable support, both in-person and virtually, to programs who are seeking to improve quality and make progress towards goals. The Staff Coach will provide quality support services required by the PHLpreK program. What You’ll Do: Work with assigned programs to collect and validate data and self-assessment results and to develop improvement goals and plans. Engage in a practice, observation, and reflection & feedback coaching cycle with providers. Provide tools/resources to support program planning and progress on identified goals. Utilize informal/virtual assessment activities that provide program information on classroom settings, teacher strengths, and areas of growth including teacher and child interactions, classroom instruction, and classroom management. Develop and facilitate small group learning environments, including peer-to-peer opportunities, and/or one-on-one coaching. Facilitate professional development which may include in-person and/or virtual learning opportunities. Refer programs to specialized outside supports and resources. Participate in assigned meetings, events and training as required What You Bring: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or a related field with a minimum of 18 credit hours in ECE; master’s degree preferred. 5 + years of early care and education experience. Experience delivering professional development and coaching support (in-house within a childcare/early education program) or to other programs. Bilingual English/Spanish preferred Completion of all required state training and certifications. Experience utilizing virtual coaching platforms (e.g., TORSH and My Coaching Companion). Physical exam and background checks are required for this position. Travel required locally or long-distance up to 20% of the time for work-related meetings and functions. Must have a valid driver’s license and/or reliable transportation.
