About The Position

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Pathology is seeking to fill Phlebotomy Technician II (Pay Grade 6) or Phlebotomy Technician I (Pay Grade 4) to perform phlebotomy/specimen collection and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy, labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies. Minimum Eligibility Requirements: Phlebotomy Technician I Qualifications: High school graduation or equivalent Special Qualifications: Previous public contact/customer service experience Desirable Qualifications: Completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience Minimum six (6) months previous experience working in a healthcare setting Basic computer skills Previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment Previous patient contact experience Phlebotomy Technician II Qualifications: 1. High school graduation or equivalent, and 2. Current certification as a Phlebotomist Technician by ACA (American Certification Agency), AMT (American Medical Technologists), ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology), NCA (National Center for Competency Testing), NCCT (National Credentialing Agency) or NHA (National Healthcareer Association), and 3. Requirements

  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Previous public contact/customer service experience
  • Phlebotomy Technician II Qualifications: 1. High school graduation or equivalent, and 2. Current certification as a Phlebotomist Technician by ACA (American Certification Agency), AMT (American Medical Technologists), ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology), NCA (National Center for Competency Testing), NCCT (National Credentialing Agency) or NHA (National Healthcareer Association), and 3. Six months full-time experience performing phlebotomy work, or completion of a Phlebotomy training program.
