The Phlebotomy Technician is primarily responsible for collecting specimens for laboratory testing in the inpatient setting. Patients may range from newborn through older adults. Team members are assigned to various inpatient units based on volume and are expected to provide timely and accurate service.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years' experience
  • High School/GED
  • Phlebotomy: venipuncture and capillary methods
  • Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and coworkers
  • Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques
  • A minimum of one year’s consecutive experience may be considered in lieu of certification

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational/Technical School
  • Formal Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant Certification
