About The Position

We are seeking a Phlebotomy Technician II , also referred to as a Phlebotomy Tech II . The Phlebotomy Technician will be responsible for drawing blood and handling specimens, ensuring proper identification, labeling, and transport to the lab. They also maintain equipment, adhere to quality and safety protocols, record patient data, and collaborate with other departments to ensure effective patient care. This position is on a per diem basis, meaning PD/PRN as needed . Requirements

High School Diploma, or equivalent, required.
BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained current, required.

Nice To Haves

Minimum of two (2) years of clinical laboratory experience, preferred.

Responsibilities

P repar e patients for blood draws, explain procedures, and ensur e patient comfort and safety throughout the process
Responsible for correct blood c ollection , d raw blood from patients using venipuncture, capillary puncture, or other techniques ; ensure proper identification and labeling of specimens
Organize , handl e , and transport specimens to the laboratory for testing, ensur e all specimens are properly processed and stored
A dher e to quality control and safety protocols to maintain the integrity of specimens and ensure accurate test results
M aintain and calibrat e phlebotomy equipment and supplies, ensur e everything is in working order and properly sanitized
P erform more complex or specialized phlebotomy procedures as , often with minimal supervision
