About The Position

The Inpatient Phlebotomy Team intends to hire for one position at either the Phlebotomy Technician I classification, or Phlebotomy Technician II classification, based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking to fill Phlebotomy Technician I positions to perform phlebotomy/specimen collection and a variety of laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy, labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies. Duties to include: Performs phlebotomy draws Performs computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required Orders, receives, and distributes supplies Responds to basic phlebotomy inquiries and otherwise represents assigned and related work areas Percent of Time: 60% Schedule: Night shift (2300-0730) , every other weekend, every other holiday Location: UI Health Care Main Campus Merit Pay Plan Benefits Highlights: Regular salaried position located in Iowa City, Iowa Fringe benefit package including paid vacation; sick leave; health, dental, life and disability insurance options; and generous employer contributions into retirement plans For more information about Why Iowa?, click HERE!
