About The Position

The Phlebotomy Technician I role involves collecting blood from various patient populations (inpatients, outpatients, and nursing home residents) following established procedures, including performing capillary punctures, venipuncture on infants and adults, and radial arterial punctures on adults.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Good work history in customer-service-skills-focused positions, with an emphasis on excellent attendance, strong work ethic, teamwork abilities.
  • Vaccination or lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella.
  • Receipt of a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year of hire and annually thereafter, or an approved medical or religious exemption.

Responsibilities

  • Collects blood from inpatients, outpatients, and nursing homes according to established procedures and policies.
  • Performs capillary punctures and venipuncture on infants and adults.
  • Performs radial arterial punctures on adults.
