About The Position

Obtains blood specimens from patients and delivers specimens to the laboratory and/or sends through the transport system. Correctly identifies patients and specimens.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly.
• Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient information.
• Absolute integrity and accuracy in the patient identification process.
• Must complete HeartSaver CPR by the end of the orientation period.

Nice To Haves

• MLA certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency (i.e. ASCP or AMT) preferred.
• Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 semester hours of biology and 6 semester hours of chemistry preferred.
• Previous work experience strongly preferred.
