LabCorp is seeking a Phlebotomy Supervisor to join our team in Tyler, TX. Work Schedule: Monday – Friday hours will vary between 6am – 6pm based on coverage needs; Weekend hours may be required as needed. As a Phlebotomy Supervisor you will lead a team of Phlebotomists and directly impact the Patient/Client experience. You will manage and oversee all aspects of our LabCorp patient service centers and designated client locations. This role emphasizes your ability to lead, inspire, and develop others

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to cover large geographical territory of approximately 400 miles
  • Able to work in a fast paced / high volume work environment
  • Exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Reliable transportation and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s Degree
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed Phlebotomy training program from an accredited agency
  • 3 or more years’ phlebotomy experience working in clinical / hospital environment
  • Pediatric - Geriatric patient experience
  • Phlebotomy managerial, supervisory, team leader experience

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of approximately 40 or more phlebotomists working in Patient Service Centers and/or physician's offices in East Texas area
  • Manage patient flow, wait times, inventory levels and information logs
  • Monitor monthly productivity and report any deviations as necessary
  • Coordinate phlebotomists' schedules through resourceful and creative thinking
  • Perform operational duties such as payroll, monthly schedules and performance appraisals
  • Partner with Human Resources regarding employee relations issues and disciplinary actions
  • Hire and train phlebotomists to fill any open positions
  • Communicate effectively to internal and external customers including patients, client office staff, sales team, logistics and senior management
  • Provide exceptional customer service to all patients and clients
  • Assist in the set-up of new Patient Service Centers or Client Offices
  • Provide resolution of any patient or client issues
  • Perform, collect and prepare specimens when needed
  • Travel to additional sites as necessary
