Position Summary: We are seeking an energetic and motivated leader to supervise our outstanding phlebotomy team at our Revere Health Provo clinic. This role is ideal for someone who can balance a strong work ethic with a positive, fun team culture—while consistently ensuring regulatory compliance and high-quality patient care. The Supervisor will uphold our organization’s reputation for delivering friendly, competent, and efficient patient-focused services. Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of clinic operations such as specimen collection and processing, clerical and receptionist functions, employee evaluation, and maintaining strong working relationships with both clinic and reference laboratories. This position is also responsible for staff training and competency assessments, monitoring and improving patient wait times, managing supplies across draw locations, and driving process improvements. The Supervisor will address fainting events and troubleshoot collection or processing issues as they arise, ensuring smooth daily operations and an excellent patient experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current BLS CPR Certification or obtained within 6-months of hire.
  • Experience with processing and collection of complex reference lab orders.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior supervisory experience preferred.
  • Graduation from an accredited medical vocational institution with phlebotomy course diploma preferred.
  • Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • 1-year previous phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains strict patient confidentiality in accordance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Collects, identifies, labels, and processes specimens while ensuring proper handling and specimen integrity.
  • Oversees the department orientation process, ensuring all new employees receive thorough training on job responsibilities, procedures, and performance expectations.
  • Administers clinic policies and procedures consistently, fairly, and in a timely manner.
  • Monitors staff performance to ensure competency, efficiency, and productivity.
  • Conducts constructive and fair performance evaluations at the 3-month mark and annually thereafter; provides coaching, performance improvement guidance, goal setting, and recognition for strong performance. Reviews and tracks progress toward established goals.
  • Manages staff scheduling, including approval and coordination of time off, overtime authorization, and ensuring adequate coverage to support efficient patient care. Submits bi-weekly payroll reports accurately and on time.
  • Maintains supplies and oversees inventory management for all draw locations.
  • Resolves employee conflicts and workplace issues promptly to foster a professional and respectful work environment; maintains appropriate written documentation of incidents.
  • Conducts and participates in department meetings and serves on committees as requested.
  • Monitors daily workflow and identifies opportunities for process improvement to enhance efficiency and patient experience.
