About The Position

HCA HealthONE Presbyterian St. Lukes is seeking a Phlebotomy Laboratory Assistant PRN to join their team. This role is crucial for ensuring high-quality, efficient care in the laboratory department. The position involves responsibilities such as organizing and managing the specimen procurement area, providing age-appropriate specimen collection services, and interfacing with various hospital departments and medical offices. Requirements

• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a Certified Phlebotomy program preferred.
• Experience in a hospital laboratory is desired but not necessary.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage the specimen procurement, receipt, and processing area.
• Provide age-related techniques in specimen collection and care for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations.
• Answer telephone inquiries regarding specimen collection and time elements.
• Interface between hospitals, departments, physicians, medical offices, and reference laboratories.
• Obtain blood specimens and perform general laboratory duties.
