The Phlebotomist/Laboratory Technician II greets patients, processes paperwork and specimens, and logs all tests into the computer. This role involves performing heelsticks, fingersticks, and venipunctures on patients across various age groups, including infants, children, adolescents, adults, and older adults. The position requires demonstrating professional customer service skills during interactions with customers and performing receptionist and clerical duties such as greeting patients, answering phones, and managing patient information in compliance with HIPAA protocols. Additionally, the technician is responsible for preparing the blood drawing area, maintaining inventory, and ensuring cleanliness. The role also includes processing specimens for testing, adhering to safety and infection control guidelines, and supporting day-to-day laboratory operations.
