About The Position

HCA HealthONE Aurora is seeking a Phlebotomy Lab Assistant to join their team. This role is crucial for ensuring high-quality, efficient care in the lab department. The Lab Assistant will be responsible for the organization and effectiveness of the specimen procurement, receipt, and processing area. The position involves providing services that address age-related techniques in specimen collection and care for various populations, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The Lab Assistant will also handle communication with other hospitals, departments, and medical offices, obtain blood specimens, and perform general laboratory duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• Completion of a Certified Phlebotomy program preferred.
• Experience in a hospital laboratory is desired but not necessary.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Organize and manage the specimen procurement, receipt, and processing area.
• Provide age-related techniques in specimen collection and care.
• Answer telephone inquiries regarding specimen collection.
• Interface with hospitals, departments, physicians, and medical offices.
• Obtain blood specimens and provide quality service.
• Perform general laboratory duties.
