About The Position

HCA HealthONE Swedish is seeking a Phlebotomy Lab Assistant PRN to join their team. This role is crucial for ensuring high-quality, efficient care in the lab department. The Lab Assistant will be responsible for the organization and effectiveness of the specimen procurement, receipt, and processing area. The position involves providing services that address age-related techniques in specimen collection and care for various populations, including neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. The Lab Assistant will also handle communication with other hospitals, departments, and medical offices, obtain blood specimens, and perform general laboratory duties.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Phlebotomy Certification preferred.
• Completion of a Certified Phlebotomy program preferred.
• Experience in a hospital laboratory is desired, but not necessary.
• Good customer service and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient organization and effectiveness of the specimen procurement, receipt, and processing area.
• Provide services addressing age-related techniques in specimen collection and care for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatric populations.
• Answer telephone inquiries regarding specimen collection and time elements.
• Interface between other hospitals, hospital departments, physicians, medical offices, and reference laboratories.
• Obtain blood specimens and provide quality service.
• Perform general laboratory duties.
