About The Position

The Phlebotomist is responsible for all aspects of the phlebotomy process, including sample collection, processing and computer data entry as required. The phlebotomist also performs bedside glucose testing, a waived test. The phlebotomist is also responsible for urine collections for clinical and forensic testing.

Requirements

• Completed formal phlebotomy training course.
• Externship associated with a formal training program that included a minimum of 100 venipunctures and capillary collections.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Perform all aspects of the phlebotomy process including sample collection and processing.
• Conduct computer data entry as required.
• Perform bedside glucose testing.
• Conduct urine collections for clinical and forensic testing.
