The Phlebotomist at Samaritan Lebanon Community Hospital is responsible for collecting blood samples from both inpatients and outpatients. This role involves identifying samples that have been incorrectly collected or processed and processing physician orders for laboratory testing. The Phlebotomist represents the laboratory in a professional manner to patients, hospital staff, and medical staff. The laboratory teams at Samaritan Health Services are tasked with testing samples, including blood, body fluids, and tissue, to aid in the diagnosis of diseases, illnesses, or conditions requiring medical attention. Lab tests are processed for hospital inpatients and emergency room patients 24 hours a day, and testing is also performed on outpatient and clinic specimens. All labs are licensed by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and accredited by the College of American Pathologists.
