The Phlebotomist II at Intermountain Healthcare is an experienced role responsible for accurately and compassionately collecting patient specimens for diagnostic testing in a professional medical environment. This position involves working in both fast-paced hospital settings and high/low volume clinics, and may include performing moderately complex laboratory testing. The Phlebotomist II may also act as a Team Lead, Trainer, or Supervisor, assisting with various responsibilities including adverse event investigations and research study coordination.   • Accurately collect patient specimens for diagnostic testing.
  • Perform moderately complex laboratory testing as needed.
  • Act as a Team Lead or Trainer for other phlebotomists.
  • Assist with adverse event investigations and research study coordination.
  • Communicate procedures and instructions compassionately to patients and families.
  • Deescalate stressful situations calmly and respectfully.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and clinical staff.
  • Lead continuous improvement projects as assigned.
  • Basic Life Support certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
  • Advanced phlebotomy skills typically acquired through experience in a clinic or hospital setting.
  • Experience working in a team environment under stressful situations.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and nights.
  • Ability to take on-call shifts as needed.
  • Adherence to personal protective requirements in healthcare settings.
  • Two years' prior phlebotomy experience or one year of Intermountain phlebotomy experience.
  • Previous leadership experience.
