Phlebotomist – PRN – Varied Shifts, Weekends & Call The Phlebotomist performs the collection of blood and body specimens from hospital inpatients and outpatients and transports patient specimens to the laboratory. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED

  • Completion of Phlebotomy training program or ASCP Certification
  • Work Experience Education

Responsibilities

  • Performs venipuncture and capillary collections and performs point of care testing.
  • Collects appropriate specimen for each test.
  • Follows all patient safety and specimen collection protocols without variance.
  • Properly transports collected specimens to the lab via tube system or hand carry and follows infection control protocols.
  • Consistently follows hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
