This position involves performing phlebotomy services on both inpatients and outpatients as requested by physicians, supporting the hospital's mission of patient care. The role requires timely blood collection using established laboratory guidelines to acquire acceptable specimens for diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Responsibilities also include following standard operating procedures for basic diagnostic procedures, operating laboratory equipment, restocking supplies, and demonstrating knowledge of patient care requirements for all age groups. The Phlebotomist is expected to manage workload efficiently, communicate effectively with various hospital departments, patients, and providers, and perform basic clerical duties. Additionally, the role involves participation in educational endeavors, training, supervision, and evaluation of residents, students, and new employees.
