Visit us online at: https://www.aikenregional.com Phlebotomist is responsible for collection and transportation of patient specimens and performing clerical functions related to the support of the laboratory.
Requirements
- Graduate of a phlebotomy training program.
- Required licenses/ certifications/courses: CPT (ASCP) preferred.
- BLS certification.
Responsibilities
- Assists in maintaining inventory of supplies, including expiration date checks.
- Accountable for intra-communication, updates and information from top down
- Actively participates in survey readiness.
- Communicates with lab leadership on concerns affecting lab operations, quality and errors.
- Monitors pending workload and communicates effectively as needed
- Communicates and handles problems with customers in a timely manner.
- Performs phlebotomy on all patient populations following good practices and and standards.
- Assists with specimen processing.
- Attends staff meetings in person or virtually
- Orders and/or registers specimens in the LIS
- Pull pending ensuring work is completed in a timely manner.
- Performs positive patient identification of patients.
