About The Position

Phlebotomist (Nights) Metairie, Louisiana The Phlebotomist is responsible for the collection of blood and other specimens from residents in long-term care settings, including but not limited to nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Working under the standards of a CLIA-certified laboratory, the phlebotomist ensures timely, safe, and compassionate specimen collection while maintaining the integrity of samples for accurate diagnostic testing. We currently have multiple night-shift roles available within our laboratory operations team. Opportunities include: Full-Time Night Shift Position PRN Night Shift Positions (2 openings) All positions require the ability to work overnight hours, maintain strong attention to detail, and provide excellent support to our lab and client partners.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Certification and registration with LSBME preferred
  • At least 1 year of phlebotomy experience, preferably in a mobile or geriatric setting preferred
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
  • Must be able to work a rotating on call schedule, including weekends and/or holidays as needed
  • Must have reliable means of communication which allows mobile access to various online Company applications
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently and traveling between multiple locations
  • Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to variable schedules
  • Compassionate demeanor and respect for elderly and vulnerable populations
  • Ability to work with a high degree of independence

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Travel daily to multiple nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and other residential care environments to perform phlebotomy procedures, pick up specimens, or deliver supplies
  • Verify patient identity and ensure proper labeling of all specimens according to laboratory protocol
  • Collect blood samples using proper techniques and equipment
  • Prepare specimens for transport to the laboratory, ensuring appropriate packaging and documentation
  • Follow all CLIA, OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control regulations
  • Maintain communication with lab personnel, facility staff, and healthcare providers regarding any issues or concerns
  • Document all visits, patient interactions, and sample collections accurately in electronic or paper logs
  • Maintain phlebotomy supplies, including restocking and proper disposal of sharps and biohazardous materials. May require delivery of supplies to facilities serviced by the Company.
  • Provide excellent patient service, especially to elderly and medically fragile populations
  • Other business-related tasks as assigned
