About The Position

Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving 400,000 people living in central, western and Midcoastal Maine. Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Central Maine Medical Center Pathology team! This is a Full-time, 36 hours per week, benefit eligible position. Duties and Responsibilities: The Phlebotomist is responsible for assisting in the procurement and processing of biological specimens from patients for analysis in the Laboratory and to perform supportive tasks in the maintenance of related records and facilities. The phlebotomist works independently, organizing work to meet established deadlines and accepts direction from supervisory and technical staff. Properly collects and prepares specimens with efficiency and accuracy for subsequent testing to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of results used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.

Requirements

  • Phlebotomy training or experience required.
  • High School Diploma with a strong background in biology and chemistry.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy Certification is preferred
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS preferred.
  • Additional languages preferred.
