Job Summary: Phlebotomist will obtain and prepare specimens for analysis and perform various screening tests. Schedule : PRN, flexible hours Mondays through Fridays.

Requirements

  • Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Minimum High School graduate or have GED equivalency.
  • IATA certification required.
  • Motivated to work consistently in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Essential physical requirements include sitting, typing, standing, and walking.
  • Lightly active position, occasional lifting of up to 20 pounds.
  • Reporting to work, as scheduled, is essential.
  • This is an on-site work arrangement.

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomist certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Have full knowledge of laboratory procedures and processes per protocol.
  • Collects blood by drawing from patients for clinical protocols, procedures or diagnoses.
  • May also collect other specimens, such as urine, sputum, or throat swabs.
  • Prepares samples for testing and storage, and labels them for analysis.
  • Verifies the patient's records, enters data into the system, and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Prepares, maintains, and disposes of medical instruments, such as needles, test tubes, blood vials, and study supplies for visits.
  • Also responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment.
  • Explains procedures to patients to help them feel more comfortable and help patients remain calm.
  • May conduct intake interviews, take vital signs, and perform clerical work.
  • Assist in the creation of laboratory documents (harvest logs, etc.)
  • Pack and properly label all study materials for storage or return to sponsor upon study close out.
  • Complies with regulation and protocols, attends meetings, trainings, and works cooperatively with research team and co-workers.
  • Supports and ensures strictest adherence to best practices, FDA Code of Federal Regulations, ICH (International Conference on Harmonization), GCP (Good Clinical Practices), CenExel standard operation procedures, site working Practices, protocol and company guidelines and policies.
  • Assumes other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
