About The Position

WI-SSM Health St. Mary's Hospital - Madison Worker Type: Regular Job Highlights: This is a full time evening shift Phlebotomist position for St. Mary's Hospital in Madison working 32 hours per week from 12:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday through Friday with an every third weekend rotation. A one-time sign on bonus (less taxes) may be available to qualified individuals with a 2 year service commitment. Job Summary: Under specific direction, collects and prepares blood specimens and other samples for laboratory testing. Maintains collection areas and equipment and performs record keeping duties.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
• No experience required

Responsibilities

• Collects blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary technique and processes the samples according to laboratory guidelines.
• Delivers samples to the laboratory in established time frames.
• May perform waived testing.
• May perform a variety of administrative duties to support the department.
• Identifies patients using two identifiers.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
