About The Position

The company is seeking a Phlebotomist to join their team in Richmond, VA. This role is crucial for improving health and lives by providing vital information. The Phlebotomist will be the face of the company, offering exceptional customer service and performing skilled specimen collections in either a Patient Service Center or Client office. Labcorp offers opportunities for continuous growth within the organization, and Phlebotomists may be eligible for participation in the PST Incentive Plan, which provides a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
  • Fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (subject to applicable law, all prospective hires will need to provide proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or qualify for medical or religious accommodations)
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Process billing information and collect payments as necessary
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to additional sites when needed
