About The Position

Functions as a Phlebotomist for the Department of Pathology in any location operated by the laboratory as a Patient Service Center or Limited Service Laboratory or when required at a patient's home. Performs Routine and difficult phlebotomies for patients as ordered by qualified providers. Uses EMR /LIS systems to create registrations, transcribe/scan outside physician orders, convert (if needed), release and accession orders and to contact providers. Identifies patients and labels specimens appropriately.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent and phlebotomy experience or graduation from an approved Phlebotomy program required
• Typing, computer skills and interpersonal skills are required
• Must have reliable means of transportation and a NYS drivers license

Nice To Haves

• Phlebotomy experience preferred
• Basic understanding of medical laboratory technology and medical terminology desired
