Job Description: This is a PRN position that provides coverage as-needed at our Essen Lane location in Baton Rouge, LA. SCOPE: Collect specimens for laboratory analysis, and prepare for processing by the laboratory. Greet and receive all patients in a professional, warm, and efficient manner. Utilizing the laboratory software; register patients into the system for proper specimen processing. Make sure to maximize in-house lab processing.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Graduate of a phlebotomy training program
- 2 years’ experience in a lab required
Nice To Haves
- Phlebotomy Certification highly preferred
- oncology experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture on patients in both a timely and professional manner.
- Verify lab orders are available and patients are registered.
- Process specimens for internal and external processing.
- Management of Lab area
