Overview Central Maine Healthcare is an integrated healthcare delivery system serving 400,000 people living in central, western and Midcoastal Maine. Responsibilities $20.50/hr Starting hourly rate, increasing with experience. Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Pathology team at Bridgton Hospital ! This is a per diem position. Duties and Responsibilities: The Phlebotomist is responsible for assisting in the procurement and processing of biological specimens from patients for analysis in the Laboratory and to perform supportive tasks in the maintenance of related records and facilities. The phlebotomist works independently, organizing work to meet established deadlines and accepts direction from supervisory and technical staff. Properly collects and prepares specimens with efficiency and accuracy for subsequent testing to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of results used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Regulatory Requirements: Phlebotomy training or experience required. Phlebotomy Certification is preferred American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS preferred. High School Diploma with a strong background in biology and chemistry. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Strong written and verbal skills. Additional languages preferred. Basic computer knowledge. Qualifications Education and Experience: Phlebotomy training or experience required. Phlebotomy Certification is preferred American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS preferred. High School Diploma with a strong background in biology and chemistry. This CMHC position must meet the criteria for evaluating vehicle operator suitability. It has been determined that this position requires either the operation of a system or leased vehicle or the use of a personal vehicle for business purposes on a regular basis as an integral part of the job. Requirements
