Summary Uses equipment to collect samples of blood and other fluids from patients/residents; explains procedures to patients/residents and collects information from them in a professional manner. Collects and manages samples of blood and specimens from patients/residents; ensures patient/resident safety during the sample collection process. Records and documents patient/resident information accurately. Follows all standard procedures and safety regulations; deploys asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures. Communicates with patients/residents, collecting their health information and answering their questions regarding phlebotomy procedures. Job Description Weston is both a hospital and clinic location. Phlebotomist would be responsible for drawing in both areas. New employee has two options for schedule. Option 1: Phlebotomist would work rotating clinic and hospital shifts. Clinic shifts Monday- Friday 7 AM to 5 PM for 8 hour shifts. Hospital is open 24/7 365 days a year and would be responsible for drawing on the PM shift for 8 hour shifts. Phlebotomist will be on a weekend and holiday rotation. Option 2: Phlebotomist would work Monday - Friday 1200 PM to 830 PM. No scheduled weekends. Responsible to be on holiday rotation. No formal training need for position, as willing to train the right applicant on the job, but experience in phlebotomy is preferred. Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required.
  • May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a formal phlebotomy program, phlebotomy experience, and experience in a laboratory-related field preferred.
  • Experience in phlebotomy is preferred.
