Our phlebotomy department is staffed 5am-530pm and this position will rotate between the 7-330, 8-430 or 9-530 shift M-F. Uses equipment to collect samples of blood and other fluids from patients/residents; explains procedures to patients/residents and collects information from them in a professional manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or General Educational Development Diploma (GED) required.
  • May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Completion of a formal phlebotomy program.
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Experience in a laboratory-related field.

Responsibilities

  • Collects and manages samples of blood and specimens from patients/residents; ensures patient/resident safety during the sample collection process.
  • Records and documents patient/resident information accurately.
  • Follows all standard procedures and safety regulations; deploys asepsis techniques during phlebotomy procedures.
  • Communicates with patients/residents, collecting their health information and answering their questions regarding phlebotomy procedures.
  • Mentoring phlebotomy students.
  • Helping shape a strong team culture.
  • Leading by example.
  • Providing meaningful, high quality patient care.
