About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Phlebotomist to join our team on a part-time basis in the Bronx. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of two years of recent phlebotomy experience, be proficient with straight needles, and possess strong communication skills. The ability to speak both Spanish and English is essential.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years' work experience performing venipunctures in a fast-paced lab or hospital setting.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to speak both Spanish and English is essential.

Nice To Haves

Experience with specimen collection and blood draws.
Ability to perform a mock blood draw with a phlebotomy professional.

Responsibilities

Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge specimens, record maintenance data, and update patient information.
Collect and store specimens according to established procedures.
Clearly and courteously explain the venipuncture process and other specimen collection procedures, such as urine or fecal collection.
Demonstrate techniques using straight needles and/or butterfly needles.
Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes.
Label, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as required by test orders.
Verify all test requisitions or computer labels against scripts to ensure 100% accuracy.
Package specimens for transport.
Store specimen samples at the required temperature, place samples in appropriate collection containers/tubes, and accurately label them.
