About The Position

This is a part-time Phlebotomist position at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison, requiring 20 hours per week with varying day shifts and a weekend rotation. The shifts include hours such as 3:00 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., 3:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., 4:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., 4:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The role involves collecting and preparing blood specimens and other samples for laboratory testing under specific direction. Key duties also include maintaining collection areas and equipment, and performing necessary record-keeping tasks.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED or 10 years of work experience
• No experience required
• None (Required Professional License and/or Certifications)

Responsibilities

• Collects blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary technique and processes the samples according to laboratory guidelines.
• Delivers samples to the laboratory in established time frames.
• May perform waived testing.
• May perform a variety of administrative duties to support the department.
• Identifies patients using two identifiers.
• Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
