Clinic location: 11825 SW 26TH St Miami, FL 33175 JOB SUMMARY The Phlebotomist is responsible for drawing blood on patients at the clinic and ensuring samples are sent to outside medical labs for processing.

Requirements

  • 1year minimum experience working as a phlebotomist in a clinic or laboratory setting.
  • High school degree or GED equivalent
  • Certification or accreditation from a phlebotomy vocational school
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing patients before drawing blood
  • Explaining blood draw procedures to patients and answering any questions about the process
  • Following all health and safety protocols and procedures to maintain sanitary work areas.
  • Gathering medical testing materials, including needles, sample vials, blood storage bags and test tubes
  • Verifying patient information and labeling blood samples properly
  • Accurately updating patient information in the organization’s database
  • Helping nervous or frightened patients remain calm during blood draws.
  • Working with supervising physicians and always following their directions.
  • Submit electronic requests to labs.
  • Uploading results included.
  • Correct issues should they arise with relation to lab portal.
  • Travel to clinics within the region as needed for business operation or staffing coverage requirements.
