About The Position

Women’s Care is seeking an experienced Phlebotomist with a strong work ethic to join their dedicated team. As an integral part of the clinic, the Phlebotomist will play a vital role in supporting diagnostic services by expertly performing blood draws and ensuring accurate collection, labeling, and handling of patient specimens. The role requires a passion for providing excellent patient care and thriving in a collaborative environment. This is a full-time opportunity working on-site at a Women’s Care clinic in Eugene or Springfield, OR, with an expectation of 40 hours per week. Women’s Care was founded in 1988 and is Lane County’s oldest independent physician group specializing in women’s health. They have six clinic locations within Lane County and hold themselves to the highest possible standard of care delivery through compassion, respect, and professionalism. Women’s Care takes care of all patients, from adolescence to menopause, and is one of the area’s strongest advocates for women’s health.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of Laboratory Information Systems including a thorough understanding of laboratory testing menu and specimen requirements.
  • Strong personal work habits with a high level of accountability and self-management skills that enable desired outcomes.
  • Easily able to adapt and maintain composure.
  • Effective at time priority and management.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and facilitate the safe and efficient collection and handling of patients’ specimens at practitioners’ request. Including, but not limited to venipuncture, urine, and sperm collection.
  • Schedule patients for laboratory testing.
  • Educate patients as directed in testing instructions and requirements as well as other information that will result in accurate and timely results.
  • Process specimens for in-house and/or off-site testing.
  • Perform CLIA waived and moderately complex testing as directed by the general or technical supervisor and will have review of results by general or technical supervisor.
  • Monitor and follows up on pending lab results to ensure timely reporting of lab results.
