In this role, a Phlebotomist will perform blood collection and specimen processing, assist with clerical duties, and ensure laboratory collection turnaround times are met.

Responsibilities

Perform blood collection and specimen processing.
Assist with clerical duties as requested.
Maintain laboratory collection turnaround time.
Perform specimen processing.
Practice positive patient identification at all times, in all job functions.
Practice HumanKindness and courtesy with all patient and co-worker interactions.
Establish and maintain good communication within the department and with other hospital departments.
Comply with isolation and hand sanitization procedures.
Follow blood collection procedures, perform venous and capillary punctures on all age groups of inpatient and outpatient populations.
Utilize appropriate collection techniques to obtain quality samples and adhere to appropriate volume requirements.
Perform Blood Bank collections.
Follow written collection and Blood Bank banding procedures.
Demonstrate accuracy and good penmanship.
Adhere to specimen requirements.
