About The Position

The company is seeking a Phlebotomist to join its team in Detroit, Michigan. This role involves performing blood collections, collecting various specimens, accurate data entry, processing billing, preparing specimens for testing, maintaining logs, and providing superior customer service. The Phlebotomist will work in a client office, providing exceptional customer service, performing skilled specimen collections, and representing the company. Requirements

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent
• 1 year of more of phlebotomy experience
• In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
• Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or in a team environment
• Comfortable working under minimal supervision
• Reliable transportation
• Flexibility to work overtime as needed
• Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

• 2 years or more of phlebotomy experience in an outpatient lab setting

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
• Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
• Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
• Process billing information and collect payments when required
• Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
• Maintain patient and specimen information logs
• Provide superior customer service to all patients
• Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
• Travel to additional sites when needed
