Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Rumford Hospital Pathology team! This is a Per Diem position. A beautiful, rural area, the town is located in west-central Maine’s Oxford County and is surrounded by forests, mountains, rivers, and lakes. This area boasts many recreational opportunities for boating, swimming and fishing; and it’s also home to the largest waterfall east of Niagara. The business district of the town is located on “The Island” located between the Androscoggin River and the canals. The Island features restaurants and retail stores.

Requirements

  • Phlebotomy training or experience required.
  • High School Diploma with a strong background in biology and chemistry.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.

  • It has been determined that this position requires either the operation of a system or leased vehicle or the use of a personal vehicle for business purposes on a regular basis as an integral part of the job.

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy Certification is preferred
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS preferred.

Responsibilities

  • The Phlebotomist is responsible for assisting in the procurement and processing of biological specimens from patients for analysis in the Laboratory and to perform supportive tasks in the maintenance of related records and facilities.
  • The phlebotomist works independently, organizing work to meet established deadlines and accepts direction from supervisory and technical staff.
  • Properly collects and prepares specimens with efficiency and accuracy for subsequent testing to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of results used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
