About The Position

Central Maine Healthcare is seeking a Phlebotomist to join the Central Maine Medical Center Pathology team! This is a full-time, 40 hours per week, benefit eligible position. The Phlebotomist is responsible for assisting in the procurement and processing of biological specimens from patients for analysis in the Laboratory and to perform supportive tasks in the maintenance of related records and facilities. The phlebotomist works independently, organizing work to meet established deadlines and accepts direction from supervisory and technical staff. Properly collects and prepares specimens with efficiency and accuracy for subsequent testing to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of results used in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. Requirements

  • Phlebotomy training or experience required.
  • High School Diploma with a strong background in biology and chemistry.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Strong written and verbal skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Ability to engage patients and team members utilizing the CMH Experience Standards
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and triage in a highly fluid dynamic operational environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with all layers of the management/ administration team.

Nice To Haves

  • Phlebotomy Certification is preferred
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS preferred.
  • Additional languages preferred.
