As a Phlebotomist, you will play a crucial role in putting patients of all ages at ease while collecting blood specimens, processing samples, and performing reference laboratory procedures. This includes specialized techniques like glucose tolerance tests and blood cultures. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • Blood collection experience from patients of all age groups

Nice To Haves

  • One year of college or equivalent
  • Six months of experience in Phlebotomy and laboratory processing
  • One year of Blood collection experience
  • Lab experience

Responsibilities

  • Collect blood, process specimens and perform reference laboratory processing in laboratory testing.
  • Perform related techniques, such as blood glucose tests and blood cultures.
  • Prepare samples for testing and manage specimens in the laboratory information system.
  • Prepare and ship reference laboratory specimens and resolve pending specimens and pending transports.
  • Monitor test ordering patients and requisitions to ensure compliance with outpatient laboratory testing.
