About The Position

The company is seeking a Phlebotomist to join its team at Township Boulevard in Camillus, NY. This role is crucial in Labcorp's mission to improve health and lives by providing vital information that helps clients and patients understand their health. The Phlebotomist will be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, performing skilled specimen collections, and representing the company. This position offers opportunities for continuous growth within the organization and will be based in either a Patient Service Center or a Client office.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent
  • Phlebotomy certification or completed training program or 3 months or more experience as a phlebotomist
  • In lieu of work experience, a Phlebotomy certification or completed training program must come from an accredited agency
  • Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service
  • Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment
  • Comfortable working under minimal supervision
  • Reliable transportation
  • Flexibility to work overtime as needed
  • Able to pass a standardized color blindness test

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year or more of phlebotomy experience

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups
  • Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests etc.
  • Perform data entry of patient information in an accurate and timely manner
  • Process billing information and collect payments when required
  • Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis
  • Maintain patient and specimen information logs
  • Provide superior customer service to all patients
  • Administrative and clerical duties as necessary
  • Travel to additional sites when needed
