About The Position

Job Summary: Obtain specimens and performs venipunctures for specialized and routine testing.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience as a phlebotomist, Certification by ASCP, or successful completion of a formal phlebotomy training program.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, clinical staff and providers.
• Excellent interpersonal skills with a customer service approach.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize.
• Proficiency with computers.

Nice To Haves

• Training through a formal phlebotomy program.
• Certification as Phlebotomy Technician by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP).
• One (1) year of experience as a phlebotomist in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Nursing home phlebotomy experience beneficial.
• Knowledge of phlebotomy techniques for all samples across all age groups as acquired through extensive phlebotomy experience.
