About The Position

The Staff Pad has partnered with Unity Medical Center to hire a Phlebotomist. This role is responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens for laboratory testing, supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment for both inpatient and outpatient populations.

Requirements

  • Current Tennessee phlebotomy certification required
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
  • Ability to work collaboratively with clinical staff
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Compassionate and patient-focused approach
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Dependable with consistent attendance

Responsibilities

  • Collect blood and other specimens safely and accurately from patients of all ages
  • Properly label and document specimens (name, date, time, location)
  • Ensure timely collection of routine and STAT lab orders
  • Obtain consent when required for procedures
  • Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing
  • File and deliver laboratory reports to appropriate departments
  • Monitor and replace expired supplies across hospital departments
  • Order and maintain phlebotomy supplies and inventory
  • Maintain strict adherence to safety, infection control, and compliance standards
  • Provide excellent patient care and communication during all interactions
