About The Position
The Staff Pad has partnered with Unity Medical Center to hire a Phlebotomist. This role is responsible for collecting and processing patient specimens for laboratory testing, supporting accurate diagnosis and treatment for both inpatient and outpatient populations.
Requirements
- Current Tennessee phlebotomy certification required
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English
- Ability to work collaboratively with clinical staff
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Compassionate and patient-focused approach
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable environment
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Dependable with consistent attendance
Responsibilities
- Collect blood and other specimens safely and accurately from patients of all ages
- Properly label and document specimens (name, date, time, location)
- Ensure timely collection of routine and STAT lab orders
- Obtain consent when required for procedures
- Process and prepare specimens for laboratory testing
- File and deliver laboratory reports to appropriate departments
- Monitor and replace expired supplies across hospital departments
- Order and maintain phlebotomy supplies and inventory
- Maintain strict adherence to safety, infection control, and compliance standards
- Provide excellent patient care and communication during all interactions
