About The Position

Responsible for collecting patient specimens for clinical analysis. Specimens include blood, body fluid and cultures. Couriering specimens between NBMC Lab and Bay Area Cancer Center Lab.

Requirements

• Prior phlebotomy experience is not required. On the job training will be provided.
• Ability and skill required to manage difficult situations
• Ability to maintain professional attitude and appearance
• Ability to do multiple tasks in an ever changing environment
• Must have valid Oregon Drivers license and auto insurance.
• Must be fully vaccinated for Covid-19 or willing to get vaccinated

Responsibilities

• Perform venipunctures using various techniques.
• Perform capillary collections.
• Obtain culture specimens from various sources.
• Instruct patients on proper collection of off-site specimens.
• Research specimen requirements for referred tests.
• Inventory and requisition phlebotomy supplies.
• Print patient billing information.
• Pick up and deliver specimens between NBMC Lab and Bay Area Cancer Center Lab using company vehicle.
• Attend and actively participate in department meetings.
