About The Position

Confidential acute -care facility seeking a dependable Phlebotomist to perform venipuncture and capillary draws across all ages, manage specimen handling/labeling, complete documentation, assist with clerical lab duties, and support patient -centered care.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational/technical or phlebotomy certificate beneficial.
• Entry -level to <1 year clinical lab/phlebotomy experience acceptable; hospital/acute -care experience a plus.
• MediClear certification (or equivalent) — required.
• Strong time -management, attention to detail, and patient -service skills.
• Familiarity with specimen handling, labeling, and basic EMR/LIS entry.
• Ability to pass background check and any required screenings.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and skin puncture for pediatric, adult, neonatal, and geriatric patients.
• Accurately label, process, and prepare specimens for testing; follow chain -of -custody and rejection protocols.
• Verify patient ID and complete specimen collection documentation in the LIS/EMR.
• Educate patients/families on collection procedures with professionalism and care.
• Assist with clerical lab tasks (faxing, phones, pneumatic tube, reports) and resolve outstanding specimen/accessioning issues.
• Maintain supplies, follow infection -control and safety protocols, and participate in quality control.
